British Police Time Trial Championships 19&20/6/10

Vortex Rt's Jeremy Greengrass was representing Central Scotland Police in the British Emergency Services time trial championships held in Aberdeenshire by Ythan Cycling Club.

After the previous weekend and some unidentified sickness in the Scottish 25 championship, all worries were eliminated & Jez was feeling confident after a mid week test on the dreaded vortest rig test which showed he was on better form than the previous years championship, where he placed high in the overall classification.

Jez contested the 10mile on Saturday & the 25mile on Sunday, both events were held in incredibly blustery conditions. He was testing a brand custom new skinsuit design supplied by http://www.conquestbikewear.co.uk/ in the event, which looks to have helped secure the wins.

The '10'
Saturday's time trial resulted in a very close result with Jez taking the win over a rapid Steve Legg from Metropolitan Police. The winning margin was a tight 2 seconds and in the process he set a new club record for the distance.
1st JEREMY GREENGRASS (Central Scotland) 21.58
2nd STEVE LEGG (Met Police) 22.00
3rd ROSS LAIDLAW (L&B Police) 22.54

The '25'
In Jez's preferred distance, the 25, he blasted the field to win by almost 2 minutes on an incredibly hard day on an exposed course where the strong wind resulted in only the strongest riders being able to contest the medal positions. Again he posted a new club record.
1st JEREMY GREENGRASS (Central Scotland) 56.17
2nd ANDY COWIE (Northern Constabulary) 57.11
3rd STEVE COULTISH (North Yorkshire Constabulary) 57.44

Congratulations on two individual wins plus the combined championship in the British Police Champs.
